In particular, I like the chapters of "Bluetooth in Control" and "Embedded sensor networks". Plus the chapters giving fundamentals and theories, it is worthy!

Alamowicz et al.'s Clifford Algebras with Computations

This is the best book on Clifford algebra numeric and/or symbolic computations. See my review of one of the editors, P. Lounesto, under his name. The book illustrates the fact that algebras, unlike geometries, can be easily manipulated directly with computers (and Clifford algebras also are used to handle geometric physics). The editors make sure that each contribution also advances the mathematical-physical theory of Clifford algebras. Packages MATHEMATICA and MAPLE (V) and REDUCE and LUCY are prominent. Schmeikal of Vienna applies the theory to elementary particle theory, with quarks as quantized states of orientation. Gomez et al. of Mexico have fascinating applications to crystallography including "quasicrystals", metal lic alloys with non-crystallographic symmetry but sharp spotted diffraction patterns. The non-specialist should buy the book and, if necessary, hire a consultant or tutor to explain it in closer to ordinary English. Lounesto, by the way, is in Finland with the rapidly rising Finnish schools of science and mathematics.

The invited papers in this volume provide a detailed examination of Clifford algebras and their significance to geometry, analysis, physics, and engineering. Divided into five parts, the book's first section is devoted to Clifford analysis; here, topics encompass the Morera problem, inverse scattering associated with the Schrödinger equation, discrete Stokes equations in the plane, a symmetric functional calculus, Poincaré series, differential operators in Lipschitz domains, Paley-Wiener theorems and Shannon sampling, Bergman projections, and quaternionic calculus for a class of boundary value problems.

A careful discussion of geometric applications of Clifford algebras follows, with papers on hyper-Hermitian manifolds, spin structures and Clifford bundles, differential forms on conformal manifolds, connection and torsion, Casimir elements and Bochner identities on Riemannian manifolds, Rarita-Schwinger operators, and the interface between noncommutative geometry and physics. In addition, attention is paid to the algebraic and Lie-theoretic applications of Clifford algebras---particularly their intersection with Hopf algebras, Lie algebras and representations, graded algebras, and associated mathematical structures. Symplectic Clifford algebras are also discussed.

Finally, Clifford algebras play a strong role in both physics and engineering. The physics section features an investigation of geometric algebras, chiral Dirac equations, spinors and Fermions, and applications of Clifford algebras in classical mechanics and general relativity. Twistor and octonionic methods, electromagnetism and gravity, elementary particle physics, noncommutative physics, Dirac's equation, quantum spheres, and the Standard Model are among topics considered at length. The section devoted to engineering applications includes papers on twist representations for cycloidal curves, a description of an image space using Cayley-Klein geometry, pose estimation, and implementations of Clifford algebra co-processor design.

This rating is specifically for the Kindle edition, much of which is barely readable, and is misrepresented as having "enhanced typesetting" on the product page. Many of the poems in this book are presented as very low resolution image files, which when zoomed, are still barely large enough to read and pixilated. There are only a handful where the formatting is such that it might require a static presentation to conform to the original page layout, and for those, a .pdf would be a much better choice. The others are interspersed with poems which have similar layout and are presented with the enhanced typesetting, so one gets the idea that the publisher simply couldn't be bothered to reformat all of the poems. I have 120 poetry books on my kindle and only one other with pages this poorly formatted. Normally, I would return the book, but I really wanted to read this, and I don't feel I should return a book I actually read. I am so irritated reading it, however that I don't think I could fairly rate the content. I'm thinking four stars, but given a readable copy, I might have gone five. This kindle book is way too expensive for such a low res presentation.
